University Park Subdivision is bound by an Indenture, originally drafted and adopted in 1922. Not only does the Indenture set the physical boundaries of the Subdivision, it outlines the duties and responsibilities assumed by the Subdivision, as well as the procedures and regulations under which the Subdivision operates. This Indenture is a legally-binding document, recognized by both the state of Missouri and the city of University City.

The Indenture of University Park Subdivision was created in 1922 and amended in 1925 and 1933. The trustees are presently working on a major revision of the indenture. The outline below is a brief summary of the contents of the proposed indenture. Comments from lot owners are welcome. An attorney will be retained to prepare the final document. Approval by two-thirds of the lot owners is required to amend the indenture and volunteers are needed to go door-to-door to obtain owner's signature.
