Trustees' Duties

In accordance with the University Park Subdivision Indenture, the elected Board of Trustees is responsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of the Subdivision. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Fielding requests for work from property owners and residents
  • Acquiring and securing bids from subcontractors for large projects such as snow plowing, tree trimming, street repaving, and sidewalk repair
  • Reviewing and approving/denying construction plans for structures in the Subdivision, including fences, decks, additions or new homes
  • Hiring and consulting legal counsel for the Subdivision when necessary
  • Attending University City City Council and public interest meetings to represent Subdivision interests and keep informed of pertinent University City matters
  • Working with St. Louis County public utility companies to ensure proper service in the Subdivision
  • Obtaining insurance policies for the Subdivision
  • Budgeting Subdivision monies for necessary maintenance and repairs
  • Working with title companies to ensure that all outstanding assessments are collected during the sale of homes in the Subdivision
  • Holding monthly meetings to review business and an annual general meeting elect a trustee
